BBQ Bus

The menu:

WHERE:

Franklin Square

HOW:

BBQ for lunch is a treat. Already spoiled by a wonderful dc food truck, Carnivore, this truck already had a high bar to live up to. It was a busy day in Franklin with many trucks at the square and this one of a few trucks that I haven't had.

The review

The one thing that stands out over Carnivore, is the sides bbq bus provides. This gives it a plus 1 already because what's good about BBQ without the sides? I ordered the sampler with beans and cole slaw. Carnivore definitely gives you more meat, so if you are more interested in the meat, Carnivore gets the edge there. However, with the sides and less meat, it gives it more of a balanced meal. Trying the different meats, i didn't find a favorite, although all 3 were consistent good tasting meat. The side orders were typical, nothing to write home about.

WHY:

7 wheeler review. While the meal is balanced, the bread and butter of the meal, the MEAT, did not stand out. While, very suitable for a meal, comparing to Carnivore, the charred meat and tenderness of Carnivore outranks BBQ bus even with the added side orders.
