WHERE:
Franklin SquareSo on the DC Food tracker, I saw that something called eatwonky was nearby my work. By the name, I had NO IDEA what to expect. As soon as I googled this, the image that first appeared was POUTINE. I was immediately intrigued, but thought to myself, can POUTINE be a lunch? It really seemed to me as a side order if anything. Luckily, I saw that they also had hot dogs. With that in order - it was on. There was a little bit of a line when my co-workers got there, so after the 45 minute lobster truck line, this was a great revelation. However, while it did not take 45 minutes, the line did move a lot slower. It seemed like there was only guy in the kitchen and the other guy taking orders. So, that was something that I didn't like at first. When we got to the front, the guy taking the order was real cool and explained the menu to us. In the end, I went with the hot dog (as opposed the the wonky dog - which is topped with wonky fries), but I wanted my wonky fries by itself. And also a whoopie pie to boot. While, I thought the hot dog was just an add on and this was just for the wonky fries, the hot dog was actually very good. I am used to the New York cart hot dogs, but this was a step up from that, even gourmet-esque hot dogs. However, the star, as expected was the wonky fries (poutine). The cheese curds had a very pronounced taste and the gravy was a perfect compliment to the well made fries. While I can't say that this is better than the poutine I had in Toronto, it is definitely on par and you don't have to leave the country.
HOW:
I first heard about poutine last year when I went to Toronto. All the rage on travel websites pointed me to this mysterious dish called poutine as I tend to emerse myself in the culture of the town I am in. I would consider my all time favorite food, french fries, so throwing some cheese curds and gravy is just like if you find out Jessica Alba is into video games - makes something awesome, even better. This lead me to http://smokespoutinerie.com/. As expected, poutine held a special place in my stomach. The Review

WHY:
This food truck deserves a 8 WHEELER review. The only cons being the slow line movement, it was a little pricey for the amount of fries they give you and even though the hot dog was good - in the end it's just a hot dog - maybe get a better compliment to the wonky fries. Overall though, definitely a place to go just for the taste of those fries!
